\"\"I am a Professor of Statistics at the University of Haifa where I have been on the faculty since October 1999. I received my doctorate in Biostatistics from Harvard University in 1996. I also hold a M.S. degree in Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University (1992) and prior to that had been a medical student at Hadassah Medical School, the Hebrew University.<\/span><\/p>

One of my main research interests is in the theory of stochastic order relations and the associated methods for statistical inference. Statisticians refer to this field as order restricted inference. Tools from these fields allow the development of various measures of inequality and the tools to quantify their extent from empirical data. For example,\u00a0 questions about the extent and character of income disparities across various communities and groups can be answered within this framework.<\/span><\/p>
